HIF Research Centers

The HIF research centers will offer an infrastructure to support complimentary research studies with a hearing disorder or unique population focus. The Centers’ multi-disciplinary environment lends itself to translational research that includes laboratory-based science, clinical interventions, and the ability to inform HIF’s advocacy for families and communities.

Center For Vestibular Schwannomas Research
Overview

The House Institute Foundation’s Center for Vestibular Schwannomas (Acoustic Neuromas) Research, including Neurofibromatosis (NF), tumor bank, and other skull base pathologies, is actively engaged in translational research that includes laboratory-based analysis of tumor tissue and the evaluation of innovative surgical techniques. 

Center For Hearing Devices Research
Overview

The House Institute Foundation’s Center for Hearing Devices is focused on the innovation of hearing devices including hearing aids, cochlear implants, auditory brainstem implants, and new devices.

Center for Ménière’s Disease Research
Overview

The House Institute Foundation’s Center for Ménière’s Disease Research is dedicated to understanding the natural history of Ménière’s disease and furthering research into resources and treatments for individuals living with this disease.

Center for Pediatric Hearing Research
Overview

The House Institute Foundation’s Center for Pediatric Hearing Research collaborates with clinicians and partner institutions to study the causes of hearing loss, develop and improve interventions, and assess the effects of hearing loss on childhood development. Currently, researchers at or affiliated with the center are studying spoken emotion communication in children with cochlear implants as well as predictors of hearing loss later in life.
