PLANNED GIVING
Join the House Institute Foundation’s mission by becoming a member of House Institute Foundation Legacy Society and making a planned gift.
A Planned gift is a philanthropic donation of assets during a lifetime or as a part of an estate plan. You can name your favorite charity to receive an amount of funds or a gift of property, or a beneficiary of a retirement plan.
In addition to supporting our work through your generous onetime donations, here are other ways you can contribute to the sustainability of HIF’s mission. We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor to discuss the tax implications of these options.
Bequests
One of the easiest ways to invest in the future involves simply naming the House Institute Foundation as a beneficiary in your will and living trust. A bequest may be for a particular dollar amount or percentage of your estate. Estate tax savings may be significant when donations are made to eligible 501(c)3 organizations like HIF.
Life Insurance Policy and Retirement Assets
Often overlooked by donors, naming the House Institute Foundation as a partial beneficiary of these assets can provide significant support for the organization.
Life Income Gifts
Life income gifts allow you to leave a gift in the care of the House Institute Foundation, while earning income for yourself during your lifetime. The most popular life income gifts are charitable remainder trusts like CRUTs and CRATs and charitable gift annuities which is a contract that provides the donor a fixed income stream for life in exchange for a sizeable donation to a charity.
Complex Gifts
If you are a business owner, own real property or have any other type of complex asset, giving options exist that can both help the House Institute Foundation and benefit your family financially. Your donation of real property and other assets can provide significant tax benefits while being transformational for organizations.
The House institute Foundation has an established planned giving program where members of our legacy society are forward–thinking donors who support our long-term success and will be long remembered through their generosity. Legacy society members become a special part of the House Institute Foundation donor family. They are also honored with:
- Recognition on our website
- Tributes in our House Calls magazine publication
- An annual House Institute Foundation Legacy Society luncheon with House Ear Clinic Doctor
