The House Institute Foundation is transforming auditory health through its five dynamic research centers, each dedicated to tackling critical aspects of hearing and related disorders. With world-renowned faculty, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking treatments, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes, these centers are shaping the future of hearing health.
The Center for Acoustic Neuroma Research is at the forefront of pioneering treatments for acoustic neuromas—debilitating noncancerous tumors that develop on the hearing and balance nerve of the brain. Researchers are collecting and studying tissue samples from patients to identify the most effective treatments to halt or shrink tumor growth, offering new hope for patients with these tumors.
The Center for Hearing Device Research is focused on optimizing hearing devices such as cochlear implants and hearing aids to meet individual patient needs in a wide range of listening scenarios, including noisy environments, emotional communication, and music.
The Center for Ménière’s Disease Research is dedicated to uncovering innovative ways to manage and treat this debilitating inner ear disorder. Currently, the House Institute is exploring the potential of allergy and asthma medications to reduce vertigo and hearing loss, offering new hope to those suffering from Ménière’s disease.
The Center for Pediatric Hearing Research leverages our own pediatric clinical program and partners with leading clinical and academic experts to deepen our understanding of how pediatric hearing loss impacts long-term development. With a primary focus on enhancing communication outcomes vital for success in academics, social interactions, and professional life, the center’s research lays the groundwork for more effective interventions that will transform the lives of children and adolescents with hearing loss.
The Center for Novel Approaches in Hearing Loss is dedicated to exploring new treatments and approaches for early diagnosis of hearing and ear-related disorders, including proteomics, the study of proteins associated with these disorders, and assessing nonsurgical treatment for eardrum perforations. By focusing on novel strategies, this center is unlocking new possibilities for treatments that could change the lives of millions.

In addition to these five centers, the Foundation is leading the way with two visionary initiatives:

The Hearing Science Accelerator brings together the brightest minds from around the globe to foster collaboration, drive innovation, and bridge knowledge gaps in hearing science. Each cycle focuses on a specific disease related to hearing, allowing experts to accelerate progress and bring transformative solutions to those affected by hearing loss.
Tinnitus Research is tackling one of the most persistent and challenging auditory disorders, working to uncover new treatments and solutions that could offer relief to millions living with tinnitus

Together, these centers and initiatives reflect the House Institute Foundation’s bold and comprehensive approach to advancing auditory health, bringing life-changing research, treatments, and technologies to the forefront of the field.
