Professor David Bakhos

Dr. David Bakhos, an ENT surgeon at Tours University Hospital, was awarded the 2019 Early Career Scientific Prize for Clinical Research in recognition of this work on the neurophysiological markers of hearing performance. He has identified the markers of hearing in the brain, providing a better understanding of the mechanisms leading to hearing loss and explaining the variability in performance among patients in auditory rehabilitation. The ultimate aim of his work is to improve treatment for patients. 

Dr. Bakhos has also contributed to ENT surgical training by developing a 3D model of the temporal bone.
